Innovative Travel’s Robyn Galloway, says in a spectacular showcase of ancient Egyptian history, captured during last Saturday’s Pharaohs Golden Parade which included 22 Royal Mummies moving through the streets of Cairo from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square to the new National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, was both a celebration of history and tourism. The event was attended by many dignitaries including Ms. Audrey Azoulay, the Director General of the #UNESCO and Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili, the Secretary General of the UNWTO and watched by a global audience.

Carried by chariots, the mummies traveled along the Nile to their new home in Old Cairo’s Fustat, with some of Egypt’s biggest stars helping to narrate the event.

The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization which opened its doors to visitors on 04 April, will be ready for display at the Royal Mummies Hall starting from 18 April.

The ancient mummies, date back to the 17th to the 20th dynasties include 18 kings and four queens.
They include King Ramses II, King Sagnin Ra, King Tuthmosis III, King Seti I, Queen Hatshepsut, Queen Merit Amon, wife of King Amenhotep I, and Queen Ahmose – Nefertari, wife of King Ahmose.
The mummies will be showcased at the Royal Mummies Hall which is decorated to mimic the “Valley of the Kings” where their original tombs were placed.

The new Museum will be a wonderful future addition. Galloway says, Egypt commenced their Covid-19 vaccination program on 25 January and is following an aggressive vaccination program. Egypt welcomes tourists, with a negative PCR test required 4 days prior to arrival.
