Day 1: Jerusalem

On arrival you will be met at the airport by our local operator (look out for your name on a sign) and then transferred to your Jerusalem hotel where accommodation is reserved for three nights. The remainder of the day is at leisure to unwind.

Day 2: Jerusalem - New City (B)

Begin your day with a spectacular view of Jerusalem from Mount Scopus and then on to the Garden of Gethsemane. Visit the tomb of King David and the Room of the Last Supper on Mount Zion. See the famous Dead Seas Scrolls at the Shrine of the Book. Experience a moving visit to the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial. Visit Ein Karem where John the Baptist was born. Overnight: Jerusalem.

Day 3: Jerusalem - Old City and Bethlehem (B)

Visit the Western Wall and the Temple Mount (subject to security clearance). Explore the colorful bazaars and walk the Via Dolorosa (Stations of the Cross) until the Church of the Holy Sepulcher Visit the tomb of King David and the Room of the Last Supper on Mount Zion. In the heart of a neighbourhood in downtown Jerusalem visit Mahane Yehuda to experience the flavours, aromas, colours and the trader’s interaction with the crowds at the largest open market in Israel.

Day 4: Sea of Galilee (B)

Depart Jerusalem. En route pass Jericho (subject to security clearance), the oldest city in the world. Explore the excavations of the beautiful Roman City of Beit Shean. Continue onto Nazareth to see Mary’s Well and visit the Church of Annunciation. Drive to Safed – city of Mystical Judaism for a walk through the artists’ colony. Two nights have been reserved at a Kibbutz.

Day 5: Upper Galilee (BD)

Ascend the Golan Heights and from Mt. Bental, peer deep into Syria and the ghost town of Kuneitra. Explore Caesari of Philippi at the Banias Springs. Drive along the shores of the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum to visit the ruins of the ancient synagogue. See the beautiful church at Tabgha where the miracle of the fishes and the loaves took place. Enjoy a short tour of Tiberias – the old centre of Jewish learning.

Day 6: Coastal Plain – Tel Aviv (B)

Depart for Acre (Akko) to explore the Knights’ Halls and the secret Crusader tunnels, then to Haifa to view the magnificent Bahai gardens from atop Mount Carmel. Stop at Caesarea, to visit the Roman Theatre and the Crusader Fortress, and then on to Tel Aviv for your overnight accommodation.

Day 7: Tel Aviv – Jerash – Amman (B)

Drive to Sheik Hussein Bridge for border crossing procedures to enter Jordan. Explore Jerash, the ancient Roman city of the Decapolis. Visit the Citadel and Roman Amphitheatre on a panoramic city tour of Amman where you have two nights accommodation reserved.

Day 8: Amman – Petra (B)

After an early breakfast, leave the hotel and travel along the Desert Highway on the road to Petra. Enjoy a spectacular full day tour exploring the rose-red city of Petra. Enjoy a short horse ride, and then travel on foot through the awesome ‘SIQ’ valley. Visit the Treasury, and explore hundreds of buildings, tombs, temples, and a 3,000-seat theatre from the first-century AD. Overnight in Petra.

Day 9: Petra - Kings Highway – Amman or Tel Aviv (B)

On your way back to Amman, stop to see the intricate ancient Mosaic map of the Holy Land at Madaba. Visit Mt. Nebo where Moses viewed the Promised Land before his passing. Explore the remains of the Byzantine Church with a mosaic floor, and from a platform in front of the church enjoy a breath taking view across the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. In the afternoon transfer to Amman Airport for your flight or over the border and onto Jerusalem or Tel Aviv Airport for your flight.

Flight from Amman should not be before 7.00pm, otherwise an extra night in Amman is required.
